Camping & Comfort

There’s been some discussion around here lately regarding the subject of camping & comfort. In my opinion these two do not go hand in hand.

That’s why God created Boy Scouts.

MR. Eagle Scout suggested it would be great fun and that maybe I would be more in the mood {what kind of mood might that be honey?} if I had my own uniform!

He said I could sew on as many badges as I wanted!

Sure thing. Right after I sew on a discrete flat pocket to hold my slim straight shooter ~

Oh, calm down. I’m talking about a slim straight shooter from Stanley. “For those occasions that require more than a toast.”

Then there’s the question of accommodations.

 Yes?

Remember it goes everywhere I go?

Didn’t think so.

There must be a better way…

There is!

Shelter Co.

Born from the love of the California landscape combined with nostalgia for the days of summer camp.

Shelter Co. provides fully furnished European style canvas tents for a luxury lodging experience.

Shelter Co.

Shelter Co. packages include all necessary amenities and are fully customized to meet individual needs !

Shelter Co.

Shelter Co. also offers a “Camping Butler” who will unobtrusively stoke your fire, pour your favorite liquor, {you can still bring your straight shooter Stanley} and provide turndown service?

Shelter Co.

It’s as easy as one, two, three.

Pick your spot.

With Shelter Co. you get to pick wherever you want your campsite to be.  A mountain top, a vineyard, a beach, even your own backyard. The possibilities are endless!

Pick your amenities.

I’m signing up for lighted paths, campfires, lawn & board games, a doggy tent, a private bath with organic toiletries, and yoga.

Sit back & relax.

Stargaze, sing songs, roast marshmallows, and get to know nature.

Shelter Co.

I think I might be getting in the mood.

 Shelter Co.

They say that camping will renew my love of the great outdoors. What I love is that the folks at Shelter Co. will pack it all up after we depart and leave things just the way nature intended.

Now accepting reservations.

Hmmm.  I’ll let you know.

Feeling a bit more adventurous & want to take it to the next level? Clayoquot.

If you prefer the comforts of home but enjoy smoky, woodsy stories, pictorials, and videos you’ll love Kinfolk.

If you’re a hippie at heart you’ll love The Yard.

The Yard If you were a Blue Bird like I was you’ll remember this. I think it could easily be The Blogger Wish too!

This is one of my favorite top 10 Lisa Porter Collection posts. Have a fun-filled weekend too. I think ours will be covered in plaster dust. / :

OK, that sounds like my kind of camping. I did Outward Bound about 24 years ago, three weeks in the mountains of Colorado, so I know I can do the other kind of camping. I just don't intend to ever do it again.

Let's start with my experience~ Girl Scout all the way through Seniors ie plenty of camp outs with no sleeping bag/no tent (survival) and with sleeping bag/tent. Also had a camping family.

During our engagement Mr. Decor learned there would be no more camping on my part when he asked if I'd like to pitch a tent in Yosemite for my 29th birthday. I told him I'd rather sit on a pitchfork.
I regularly lead 9 cub scouts who will soon earn their arrow of light ~ the highest honor. How? Mr. Decor is responsible for all camping adventures. As was agreed upon during our wedding vows.
Sweet boy's happy, Mr. Decor's happy and I am happy. :)
My rule: It must have indoor plumbing in the same area of the bed.

THIS was FABULOUS!!! I was enthralled through and through. Love those tents! Yep done my share of camping...even in th wilds of alaska. I think I prefer antiques in my tent!

I've never heard of "Blue Birds" but I was a Brownie and then a Girl Guide. My badge sash was a rather sad thing to behold, but I was very creative in trying to make my uniforms look as trendy as I could!
My Girl Guide troop did go camping-with all the attendant toilet papering/short sheeting midnight pranks.
I actually don't mind camping at all-so many fun memories!

Love this!
I earned the equivalent of Eagle Scout in the Girl Scouts. Was in for 10 years and earned more badges than my sash could handle. LOTS of camping...sleeping in the wide open, no 'loo's', or running water, the more primitive the better. BUT these days I'll go for 'Glamping' with hot gourmet coffee and fluffy pillows at the Rtz! :)
The MR right now is camping in a tent in the mountains of CO (14 degrees at night) hoping to get 'Mr. Big'! No thanks!
