My two year old.

Me & my little blog, two years ago we conceived a wonderful new plan, and because you noticed, we realized a dream delayed, experienced a new freedom, discovered new strength, found new friends, achieved long-sought goals & reached toward new aspirations.
So Happy Birthday little blog, you aren't turning older with the year, but newer every day!
Every day here with each one of you has been such a wonderful gift, thank you!

Just give me a beach, a book and a breeze.

For years I wanted to be older.

Holding On To History

Holding on to history

My Uncle, Charles Adams has always been the "keeper" in our family. He kept my grandparent's wonderful home for years after they passed. He kept many of their things, all for his family. Mainly he kept the memories of wonderful times alive for the generations to come. Every once in awhile, we get a box. This one was addressed to my son, Collier, for his 15th birthday. This is what was inside the box!

A cannonball from the Civil War. In the 1920s my grandfather was touring one of the many battlegrounds of the Civil War with his Boy scout troop. He simply picked it up & carried it back home with him. He was also a "keeper".

Collier is a "keeper" and thinks that this is quite possibly the coolest birthday gift he has ever received.
Thank you, Uncle Charles, it will be in good hands.

Happy Birthday

Dear Collier,
Can it possibly be time to say
"Happy Birthday" to you again?
You're a very bright, mature young man, but often you slip back to a delightfully giddy stage known as "childhood." In many ways, you're quite sophisticated & in other ways, you retain a childlike innocence...
You continue to grow in wisdom and faith.
Your handshake is firm, your word is good and your friends are chosen with care.
You have given us 15 years of joy, happiness, and great pride and we love you so very much.

Love, Mom, Dad, & Taylor
