Richard Frinier
Richard Frinier
created his daydream daybed
in 2001, he never imagined
that, over the ensuing years,
his wavy, dream-like canopied design
would ultimately become one of the most
widely-copied iconic emblems of the quickly
changing outdoor furniture industry.

“It was designed as a place to dream,
or a private place to gather with friends,”
recalls Frinier, whose inspiration came from
his travels through Morocco during his youth.

on four angled spear-like posts,
Frinier says that was intended to be
a bit more ephemeral.

not to be a taut umbrella
but rather to add to the
earthly elements of sun and wind.”
“It's not so easy to travel anymore
so why not transform
your own home into a resort,”
says Frinier.

“Take a five-minute vacation in your own backyard
before you head out for the day.”

Every photo is a slice of heaven. How I would love three or four of the loungers with the canopy. I so agree, why not treat your own backyard as a vacation spot? We don't get to travel enough so I try to make our spot truly special. Love your post!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of relaxing in my own backyard. Sometimes I get so busy working there that I forget to enjoy it.Thanks for your kind words on hill country house. So glad you enjoyed the Santa Fe post - I love it there!

ReplyDeleteLisa, Lisa, Lisa,
ReplyDeleteEverytime I come to your blog-home I have the biggest smile on my face.
I love your images at the church, they're so beautiful. I can see a bride standing at the door next to the white blossom.
I will be back for more of your spring, I looked out my window yesterday and nearly all the leaves from the trees have gone here in Australia.
