It’s my favorite color.
It’s abundant in my closet.
Always my first choice in my home as well.
Blue is a gift from the sea.
My first beach cruiser which I still ride is blue.
I’m always California dreaming!
Love both of these blue boys!
One of my favorite artists captures my favorite color beautifully!
One of my stylish & entertaining blogger friends bring blue into her garden with a nautical nod to the past.
I smile every time I trip over these. Last count, five blue pairs in the Porter house!
Every single shade of blue makes me smile.
It’s so all-American with red & white you know.
I love Jeeps too!
In Kentucky, we take great pride in our Bluegrass!
I had to say something about Kentucky! We’ve had a serious case of March madness lately because come Saturday the Cardinals and Wildcats will meet at the Final Four in New Orleans!
I mean it, folks, this is the grudge match to end them all! To quote Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell from the Senate floor -
"Basketball fans from Kentucky have been waiting their whole lives for this game."
Wish us luck!
On a personal note, I want to say how lucky we are to have our #1 girl around and cheering with us this weekend!
One week ago today, she survived a serious head-on collision while driving through the countryside. Her Jeep was totaled & she’s pretty black and blue but by the grace of God she & two of her dear friends all walked away. Seatbelts, airbags, and angels saved their lives.
Miss Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading the stories you put together! You way is words is such a gift! I have not been following basketball, guess I had better get rooting for KY! To your #1 girl...the good Lord has something very special for her and her girlfriends. :). I am so thankful all turned out well.
Much love to all you Porter's!!
xo
I can't wait till I get to Kentucky Lisa!!
ReplyDeleteBut most importantly that your baby girl is there.
My gosh, such a scare for all. Yes, the angels where definitely with 'T'.
I so love blue, I was quite lucky as a girl at school as our uniform was a royal blue with white shirts.
We MUST talk soon,
Good luck this weekend with the Basketball,
Sending hugs xxxxxxx Coty
Lisa,
ReplyDeleteFirstly, my heart was blue hearing about your no.1's collision...but happy to hear that she is back by the grace of God....
You know I am a "bluegrass" gal in my heart.
Working on a series of blue paintings...
Thanks for including my artwork here - I am so flattered.

Lisa: it is so funny how we are on the "same page" in our thoughts and inspirations. This blue story is perfect timing with references to colleges, nautical themes and just my favorite color....thank you for featuring my blue glider - I had my hubby paint it last summer and it's our favorite sitting spot outside....I really do hope to meet you IRL because from the very first day I started blogging you were there with helpful hints and encouraging words. xo tamara
ReplyDeleteand, most most importantly I am so so happy to hear that your lovely daughter Grace is safe with you and your family - I cannot imagine the horror of this situation...xo tamara
ReplyDeleteLisa! What scary news. So glad everyone is alright.
ReplyDeleteLove all the blue!
Have a wonderful weekend. xo Chic Coles
Love your blog. I'm a Kentucky girl but now live in the great state of Texas, Big D to be exact. I usually "read and run" but had to comment today on your post...GO CATS!! So happy your beloved daughter and her friends are safe...scary!!
ReplyDeleteLisa..what a week! My heart skipped a beat when you mentioned your daughter's accident. This is every parent's worst nightmare. I am so glad to hear that all is well and she and her friends are safe. She has an angel watching over her, not question about that.
ReplyDeleteYou have collected the perfect shade of blue. I have a beautiful organza long evening skirt that colour...tea length, think 1950's cocktail. I love it and wish I had more occasions to wear it too.
Sending you very best wishes for a wonderful weekend...good luck with the basketball game!
Jeanne xx
Oh thank goodness #1 girl will be ok. Your heart must be so thankful.
ReplyDeleteMy bedroom has been a lovely shade of sky for 9 years.
Huge blue fan here as well - I think almost room in my house has some blue in it!! Love it everywhere else as well. And thank goodness your daughter is ok - teenagers on the road are every parents' worst fear. But all is good so wishing Kentucky good luck in the finals - so exciting!!
ReplyDeleteOH! on your daughter! So scary! And goooooooooo team!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you all the way with this blue stuff. I was just drooling over an old Rolls in dulled out blue wishing I could afford it! I love blue furniture, too. In my NYC apartment, many years ago, I had a luminous blue stained parquet floor: like walking on the sky!
