May has been busier than ever around here. Derby kicked things off & finals kicked a few of us into high gear! We survived though and now my friends the tug of war between blogging & gardening has begun!

Remember last year when MR. attended Derby with clients & his hob-knobbing with the likes of Martha Stewart sent me straight to the nursery to buy as many peonies as I could get my hands on?

Young & fragrant & full of buds, this year they reminded me that sometimes it’s better to stay home.

This had to be my all-time favorite way of prepping for Derby.

I was also making time, taking time, clearing a path, paying attention to details, rising to the occasion, and regaining focus.

Speaking of paths…

A new & improved garden path has also been in the works thanks to my son.  Payback for proofing all those papers…

Almost finished & with more rain & sunshine all that soil will soon be a cool corner of bluegrass for relaxing & catching up with you!

All under the watchful eye of you-know-who!

Beautiful peonies Lisa. You must be exhausted from these social events! I have throwing parties at the Showroom and thanksfully to night is the last one of the season. As you, I just want a little time in the garden, taking in all the spring beauty and my beloved peonies.

Lisa, the picture of you tending the peonies is so incredible. I am a big fan of images that glimpse at a subject from a hidden angle.
Bravo to your Son - the garden path is so well done. Now time for Mom to enjoy the garden season.

Ooh! I can't wait for you to share it all when it's done. Positively intriguing! Peonies are the perfect mother's day gift aren't they? Do yours bloom on the very week as mine do? Shiree'

Miss Lisa,
I just LOVE your stone walk, the young MR did a nice job, although I am sure it was a joint effort! The peonies are just beautiful, I can only imagine your yard, it must be breathtaking. We have just realized here at Casa de Moore that the bunnies have been enjoying Mr. MD's peppers. hehe. Replanted and sprayed around with bunny repellant. :)
We need to chat soon!
