1/7/11

Dear friends,

Dear friends,
To begin the new year I wanted my first post to be a gift for you!
The incredible artistry of
Karen Appleton is a perfect way to show you how much you are truly appreciated.
"Sugarcoat"

"Crush"

In preparing to write, I've gone through my ritual of preparing a quiet comfort zone that helps to ease me back into a creative mindset.
Next to me is a new notebook and a cup of my favorite pens and pencils, along with a pile of dog-eared books. A new wide screen and keyboard thanks to my loving family, my iTunes, and I'm good to go.

"Exist"

I'm not alone, I have Gracie snoring away at my feet and I'm in the company of saints.
All of you!
"Help"

I know that each of you has your own authentic voice and message and way of inspiring us all.
I look forward to the work of your hearts, hands, and minds to once again get my own creative juices flowing.
It's going to be a great year, I just know it!

"Pow"

In closing,
I urge you to visit Karen Appleton and learn more about this delightful artist!

                       "self-portrait"

"I began painting gift-wrapped presents over six years ago, and though I am tempted by new subject matter from time to time, the bow continues to pull me back." Karen Appleton

  8. What a unique and happy concept for a painting!

Thank you so much for visiting me today! It reminded me to pop over...and I'm so glad I did! I'm behind on blog reading (missed my blog friends during card season).

    Happy weekend!

  9. I so crave a gift wrapped & tied with a bow as pretty as the one Karen depicts so beautifully. I do love all my boys, but just once I'd like to see them put some effort into the gifting process for their poor deprived Mother.

I think laughter (purposeful & otherwise) will be at the heart of my blog this year. MOTH's revised & added to his 2011 renovation list & with a peak at his time lines, this coming year will be one big joke!!! It's up to you dear Lisa to do the stylish, elegant & thoughtful posts, I reckon there'll be none over @ The Hedge this year!!

  13. I'm an interior designer from Melbourne, Australia - I loved your blog, I found it very inspiring. This is all new to me but I have just set up my own blog

You may like to check it out because I had so much fun doing it.

  14. Lisa,
I am always amazed at the artists you find, but I suppose you being an artist yourself, you are honed into other's talents. Karen Appleton's work is just beautiful, I'm with Renee, I could see a gallery wall in all of her work. Stunning.
Lucky you for your new toys! : )
