While I stepped away last week, I've been searching for original photos and piecing back together most of my original posts.
Many are my favorites about The Southern Charm of Lee Bailey, Train Travel On the Orient Express, running Barefoot in the Bluegrass, Hidden Treasures, afternoon walks through Lexington's Historic District, Collecting and Care of Silver and inspiring stories about many of You!
The talented photographer Cig Harvey sums up the situation so well with her incredible self-portraits.
By the way, don't ever delete your Picassa Web Albums!
Seems that is where my publishers were storing the photos used in my blog posts!
So, dear readers & faithful followers, I hope you will be patient while I untangle this silly mess!
Before you go, I want to share this great article about Cig, her dedication to her craft, her filmmaker husband Doug and the life they live together on the coast of Maine with their dog Scarlet Snacks.
Visit her portfolio here.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Oh how annoying. More than annoying. Heart-sinking. I am thinking of what it must take to do all the work to restore this.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you were able to recover some of your photos. I had this happen to me not too long ago ~ what a pain!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend ~
Jo
What a fun array! Good luck searching :D
ReplyDeleteLisa,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that this has happened. I lost much in a floor over a year ago, and I feel like a huge part of me is lost. I can imagine how devastated you are.
I save a html version of my posts on a flash and disk because I have heard of this happening.
I hope that you can salvage some of this hard work.
Teresa
Thank you ladies for your concern. This just goes to show how "in the dark" I still am with regards to publishing.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw that Picasso (which i have never used) had stored each and every one of my photographs, personal & bloggy, I got upset. See, I don't remember them asking.
Soooo I just started hitting the delete button...delete, delete, delete....
The good news is that I do still have all the originals in my computer files. I have had to go back to almost every post and re-upload the photos originally used.
So if you see a white box anywhere, know that there will be a picture there again, hopefully soon! Believe me, I would rather be reading all of your blogs than re-posting mine!
xo
OMG so much work...at least you have all the originals and you have not lost your touch...love this post.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet comment, and I'm so glad you left it because now I have a new obsession-- your blog!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I will definitely look for her!! I always love making new friends!!
Thank you again!!
Angela
What beautiful portraits! So sorry about the Picassa web albums. I didn't realize (until by accident) that blog photos are stored there either!!! In fact, I don't know much about the whole nitty gritty of blogger so I rarely explore any buttons other than a small handful! : +
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday to you xo

Ugh on the photo situation. But hooray on the Maine photographer link. How fun for me to read about her since I am in Rockport, Maine for a month every summer (photography is a big part of that community).
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for your sweet comment. The truth is, I don't really have a lot of spare time to pitter patter (my business and children require all of me) but I do my best to make time. And I rarely regret giving up whatever busy thing I had to give up in order to putter. It calms me. :)
Sorry about your photo mishaps but thanks for sharing these lovely images with us!!
